Commentaire : The instruction to “spin around” and then fall down to earth is astonishingly similar to some rarely practiced Dzogchen preliminaries which are described by Ian Baker, many of which he received from Chatral Rinpoche. In those practices the point is not really to “spin around your bodily axis” (as some Sufis do) but rather to “act out” all emotional states “like a madman” and until exhaustion. You are supposed to jump and run around (naked, in an isolated area), you scream and laugh and cry etc, some practices also involve holding your breath. Until exhaustion. Once you achieve that point of exhaustion you rest your mind naturally given there is no more inclination of your mind to produce endless thoughts, e.g. by simply letting yourself fall to the earth and rest there (e.g. by watching the sky, which is obviously a pre-stage of sky gazing practices).
